I am Sam, a qualified accountant with a background in commercial banking, and the founder of Informed Decisions. After years of working alongside Small to Medium Enterprise owners I saw a common pattern: People went into business seeking to create more time and freedom, yet ended up overwhelmed and under-supported, often not getting the guidance that fills the gap between accounting and finance. That’s why I created Informed Decisions - to give business owners back their time and provide them with financial insights that provide clarity and are easy to interpret.

I am passionate about building relationships with my customers and helping them to grow through providing the data required to make decisions. My goal is to empower you to make well-informed financial decisions and receive the required support so your business can grow sustainably and support the life you envisioned.

I moved to New Zealand from the UK in 2018, following obtaining my Chartership and working in Advisory and Corporate Finance roles. During my time in New Zealand I have enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle - from being in the water to up on the slopes - one of the key factors in prompting my move. I now have a young daughter who I have the privilege of showing the wonders of this country to. With a young family and two dogs it’s great to get outdoors at the weekend. Outside of that I love fitness and I have been forced to become an armchair rugby fan, if I have any downtime.
